RICHELL’S NEW PLAYPEN IS A “SLAM DUNK”

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (April 13, 2012) - Richell USA unveiled a new product at the 2012 Global Pet Expo that’s getting a lot of attention. The Convertible Indoor/Outdoor Pet Playpen, designed primarily for larger pets, has been a huge success among pet owners, especially those who currently have Richell’s PT900 Pet Playpen in their home. So what’s all of the buzz about? The playpen, which was a collaborative effort between the design team in Japan and Richell USA, was specifically designed to accommodate requests from pet owners who wanted “something bigger with adjustable panels”. “We’re very pleased that we were able to accommodate the requests of so many pet owners,” stated Paul Fijewski, Director of Sales and Marketing at Richell USA, “we anticipated a lot of excitement at the show and have had a lot since then too.”

The Convertible Indoor/Outdoor Pet Playpen is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Available in a 4 or 6-panel design, each playpen has a lockable gate door that provides easy mobility for pets and pet parents. But what makes it really unique is the specially designed “connector pin” that holds each panel securely in place and allows for multiple configurations. For example, the 6-panel can very easily become a 10-panel playpen if needed, making it a perfect holding pen for breeders, groomers and boarding kennels. Plus it’s easy to assemble – no tools required - and easy to clean!

When used indoors, the playpen can be used as a pen or converted to a freestanding gate or room divider. In addition, an optional Convertible Floor Tray is available for the pen to protect floor surfaces when used indoors. Outdoors, the 6-panel playpen configures into a rectangular or hexagonal pen. When used in a hexagon, the pen has an optional Pet Comfort Mat that can be used as a sunshade as well as a floor mat to provide total pet comfort!

Made from durable blow-molded plastic, each playpen panel measure 33.1” wide x 36” high. The 4-panel playpen measures 33.1” x 33.1” x 36”; the 6-panel playpen measures 63.8” x 33.1” x 36” (rectangular) and 54.25” x 63.8” x 36” when assemble as a hexagon. MSRP is $199.99 for the 4-panel and $249.99 for the 6-panel playpen. The Convertible Pet Comfort Mat and Convertible Floor Tray are sold separately.
